Sidney, ME : One killed in head-on crash on West River Road on Wednesday, June 15, 2016

Kennebec County sheriff's deputies are investigating a fatal crash on West River Road.

Deputies said two cars crashed head-on just before 10 p.m. Wednesday.

When first responders arrived, they found one of the drivers, Laurie Garland, of Sidney, deceased.

Deputies found two juveniles in the other car with minor injuries. Their names and ages were not released. One of the juveniles was taken to Maine General Medical Center.

Investigators said they found alcohol beverages at the scene, but did not state which car they believed they came from. They believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Deputies said Garland's car crossed the center line, hitting the other car head-on.

"It is unknown at this point in the investigation whether there will be criminal charges," Sheriff Ryan Reardon said in a statement. "Deputies are putting the pieces together to answer a number of questions. Our condolences go out to the family for their loss."

No other information about the crash has been released.
