Man killed in Metamora car crash in Metamora Illinois

A local man was found dead after a one-car accident Sunday morning on Hickory Point Road, according to authorities.
The man's name is being withheld pending notification of relatives, but he was a local resident, according to Woodford County Deputy Coroner Jeffrey Price.
Price said the Woodford County Sheriff's Office received a call of a rolled-over car a third of a mile north of Illinois Route 116 on Hickory Point Road. An initial search of the area failed to find the driver's body.
At 10:30 a.m., a relative of the driver found his body 50 feet away from the car in a ravine between two cornfields. Price said the driver, who apparently had not been wearing a seat belt, had been thrown from the car.Price pronounced him dead at the scene at 11:30 a.m.An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the coroner's and sheriff's offices.
