Montgomery, AL : Speed a factor in crash that killed three, including a 3-year-old on Tuesday, January 31st 2017

Alabama State Troopers say one of the drivers in Tuesday's fatal crash was going down Ready Section Road at high rate of speed causing him to lose control of the car.

When Johnny Mara lost control, troopers say he collided head on with Hollye Hintzelman and her family. He was killed in the crash.Family members tell us Hintzelman is in critical condition and had surgery Wednesday. They say she is facing a long road to recovery.

Her son, 3-year-old Levi Hintzelman, and his grandmother, Monica Walden, were both killed in the crash.The family says this loss comes just a short time after Hintzelman lost a five-month-old child to sudden infant death syndrome.

Hintzelman had another child, an infant, was survived the crash. The family says the baby is in good condition.
