Milton, N.H : Mark Adjutant, 45, dies after fiery crash on White Mountain Highway near Lockhart Field on Monday morning, April 25, 2016

The driver of a vehicle involved in a fiery crash in Milton Monday morning has died.

Mark Adjutant, 45, of Wakefield, was transported to Brigham and Woman's Hospital in Boston, where he later died, police said.

Adjutant and Ashley Spinney, 23, were traveling along the White Mountain Highway near Lockhart Field when they crashed into a tree. Police said the vehicle burst into flames.

A Milton police officer, along with good Samaritans at the scene, scrambled to free Adjutant, who was pinned behind the steering wheel.

Adjutant was eventually pulled from the vehicle and transported to Boston via Med Flight. Spinney suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
