A driver was killed Wednesday afternoon in a single-car crash on the Garden State Parkway, police said.
The driver was traveling northbound in a black 1999 Lexus ES near milepost 63.8 when it overturned, New Jersey State Police Trooper Alejandro Goez said.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, Goez said. The driver's identification is being withheld until the family is notified, the trooper added.
As of 3:45 p.m., all lanes on the Parkway in that area were closed and traffic was directed to the right shoulder only.
The State Police's Fatal Accident Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to the crash, Goez said.
No additional information was available on Wednesday evening.
