Powell, TN : 68-year-old man is killed after being hit by a car while trying to cross Clinton Highway in Powell on Saturday, November 22, 2014

A man was killed as he tried crossing Clinton Highway near W. Beaver Creek Drive around 6:50 p.m. Saturday. Deputies say the 68-year-old unidentified man was walking from the Clark Motel to a gas station when a van hit him. A woman was with the victim, but she told detectives she turned around because traffic was too close. The man was taken to U.T. Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
