A crash has left one person injured after police say the driver lost control of his motorcycle and struck a steel pole.
Upper Pottsgrove Police responded to the 1700 block of Farmington Avenue near Evans Road Thursday evening for a reported crash. Police said the biker involved lost control while navigating a curve. The motorcycle then struck a steel pole, ripping a one foot deep cement base out of the ground.
The cyclist, who was not wearing a helmet according to officers at the scene, was taken to Reading Trauma Center in West Reading by Gilbertsville Ambulance.
The extent of the driver’s injuries is not currently known.
Farmington Avenue remained closed for about an hour as police investigated and cleared the scene.
