A man was airlifted to Roanoke after a logging accident Wednesday in the woods of eastern Montgomery County.
A 42-year-old man was struck in the head by a falling tree limb, Capt. Brian Wright of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office wrote in an email.
Authorities received a call about the injury at 8:26 a.m. and assisted the injured man for the next two hours, Wright wrote.
The accident occurred near the 8300 block of Roanoke Road, about two or three miles off the road .
A Lifeguard helicopter took the injured man to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. His name and condition were not available, Wright wrote.
