CHARITON, IA : Waterloo woman killed in construction accident on Tuesday, June 13, 2017

A Waterloo woman working in a construction site in southern Iowa has died after being struck by a vehicle.

Barbarella Ann Moore, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Iowa State Patrol said the accident was reported about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on Lucas County Road S-45, a quarter mile south of 570th Street.

Troopers said a vehicle being driven by Brady R. Rasmus, 32, of Chariton, was southbound on S-45. Moore was getting ready to flag vehicles while another construction worker was cutting concrete on the roadway. Rasmus failed to notice Moore and struck her with his vehicle, the report states.

The accident remains under investigation.
