Memphis, TN : Roads closed after driver runs from bad crash in Medical District on Tuesday, April 28, 2015

Memphis police are responding to a large crash near the intersection of Madison Avenue and Mannassas Street near the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Both Madison Avenue and Mannassas Street are blocked as police investigate the crash.

According to police, one driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The driver of the other car ran away from the scene.

A witness says a white car was driving fast down the street, running a few red lights, when it collided with a grey car. The white car flipped, then crashed into a light pole.

The driver of the white car ran from the scene, covered in blood, according to the witness. The witness says the passenger remained because his legs were badly broken.
