Yorkville, WI : Driver killed when he loses control of truck, slides across roadway into utility pole on Saturday, January 10, 2015

A driver whose pickup truck hit a utility pole in the Town of Yorkville late Saturday has died, according to the Racine County Sheriff's Office.

The crash was reported about 10:30 p.m. Saturday in the 20000 block of Spring St. after a witness saw the truck on its side. The driver, a man whose name and age were not released, was trapped inside the truck.

Authorities said in a news release it appears the driver lost control while westbound on Highway C/Spring St. and then slid sideways across the road before flipping the truck on its side and crashing into a pole.

The driver was wearing a seat belt, and investigators say it is not known yet if alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The driver's name is being withheld until family can be notified.
