PERRY TWP, OH : Navarre woman seriously injured in single-vehicle crash on Monday, September 11, 2017
Alcohol is a suspected factor in the late-night single-vehicle crash that left a Navarre woman thrown from her vehicle as it overturned and rolled into a ravine along a creek.
Troopers with the Ohio Highway Patrol’s Canton post were called at 11:25 p.m. Monday to Kemary Avenue north of Fohl Road in response to the crash that seriously injured a 34-year-old woman, said Lt. Leo Shirkey in a news release this morning.
The woman was driving a silver 2015 Land Rover Evoque south on Kemary Avenue when she lost control of the vehicle, went off the right side of the road, struck a utility pole and then overturned several times before rolling into a creek ravine, he said. She was thrown from the vehicle, which came to rest on its side.
Perry Township firefighter/medics took the woman, who suffered life-threatening injuries, to Aultman Hospital. Her condition was not available this morning.
Shirkey said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. He also said that the woman was not wearing her safety belt at the time of the crash.
The wreck remained under investigation this morning.
