Jefferson County, AL : 45-year-old Center Point woman was dead Wednesday evening in a single-vehicle crash on October 8th 2014

A 45-year-old Center Point woman was killed Wednesday evening in a single-vehicle crash in Jefferson County. Jefferson County sheriff's deputies were dispatched about 4:30 p.m. to the intersection of Old Springville Road and Earline Circle to investigate a report of a traffic accident. They arrived to find a Chevrolet HHR had struck a utility pole, said Chief Deputy Randy Christian. Birmingham Fire and Rescue paramedics treated the woman on the scene and then transported her to UAB Hospital. She was pronounced dead a short time later. Christian said the vehicle was traveling south on Old Springville Road when the driver lost control and struck the utility pole. Authorities have not yet been able to reach the woman's family.
