WEST PALM BEACH, L : Three hurt in rollover crash near PBIA on Tuesday, 17th March, 2020
Three people were hurt, and at least one of them had to be cut out of a vehicle, following a crash Tuesday afternoon west of Palm Beach International Airport, authorities said.
Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue said it was called about 3:30 p.m. to the crash, near Southern Boulevard and near Caroline Drive, which is about halfway between Jog and Haverhill roads.
Late Tuesday, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reported that a woman and a teenage girl were in critical condition. Investigators identified the woman as Lawrie Molle, 50, of Royal Palm Beach, and the teen as Kiara Camacho, 17, of Greenacres. A child seated in back of a Jeep SUV driven by Camacho had minor injuries, the sheriff’s office said.
In total, four vehicles were involved, the sheriff’s office said.
According to a crash report, Camacho was driving west on Southern Boulevard when she lost control of the Jeep, possibly due to a deflating left tire. The Jeep veered into the path of a westbound BMW and was struck from the behind.
The Jeep crossed over the median and went airborne. It came down upon the left side of an eastbound Honda CRV driven by Molle. As the the Jeep and the Honda separated, a fourth vehicle - a Ford 350 pickup traveling east - crashed into the side of Camacho’s Jeep.
