At least one person suffered major, but not life-threatening, injuries early Wednesday in a single-vehicle crash on a rain-slicked freeway connector ramp near Bay Park.

A silver Mercedes sedan spun out on the transition from northbound Interstate 5 to eastbound Interstate 8 shortly before 2:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash knocked a palm tree over and left the car's bumper in the roadway.

Two people involved in the crash were taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said.

The freeway transition road was closed for about an hour, after the crash.
