Lubbock, TX : 3 injured in 2-vehicle crash in West Lubbock County on Wednesday morning, March 22, 2017
Three people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on Texas 114 in west Lubbock County on Wednesday morning, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. John Gonzalez.
At about 7:50 a.m., first responders were called to Texas 114, just past Research Boulevard, after a 16-year-old female was reportedly driving eastbound in a Saturn SUV on CR 6700 when she attempted to turn left onto westbound lanes of Texas 114, colliding with a Nissan SUV traveling eastward on the highway.
The Saturn, Gonzalez said, reportedly failed to yield the right of way to a Nissan SUV driven by 51-year-old Beverly Wood of Smyer.
According to Gonzalez, the impact of the collision sent the Nissan into westbound lanes and the Saturn came to a rest in the center lane.
Wood, along with the two juvenile occupants of the Saturn, were taken to University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Westbound traffic was reduced to one lane as first responders worked to clear debris from the highway.
