Fort Smith,AR : Mena man killed in crash on September, Saturday 2nd 2017

A Mena man died in a vehicle crash Saturday in Polk County, an Arkansas State Police report states.

Robert O. Schanink, 90, of Mena was killed in the accident, which took place at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, according to the report. A 2002 Buick traveling east on Arkansas 8 negotiated a left-hand curve before exiting the roadway to the right, striking an embankment near the intersection of Polk Road 691, then came to rest in the ditch.

The weather was clear and road conditions were dry, according to the report.
