Marshalltown, IA : Motorcycle-auto collision under investigation on Wednesday, March 8th 2017
A collision between an motorcycle and auto last week remains under investigation.
At about 4 p.m. last Friday on Governor Road between the intersections of Olive Street and Southridge Street, Lt. Robert Hansen with the Iowa State Patrol said a motorcycle driven by Chad Gile, 36, of Marshalltown collided with the rear end of a vehicle operated by Gregory Dale Morton, 55, of Colfax.
The Morton vehicle was southbound in the left lane on Governor Road after turning from a private driveway, according to the state patrol report. After turning from a private driveway, Gile’s motorcycle was proceeding southbound on Governor Road north of the Morton vehicle. Gile’s motorcycle closed in on the Morton vehicle and Gile took evasive action by braking. His motorcycle made contact with Morton vehicle’s rear portion. Gile fell and sustained serious injuries. He was subsequently airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Gile’s parents, Steve and Mary Gile of Marshalltown posted a picture of their son on their Facebook page with a “Pray for Chad” message, rallying friends and family to send their prayers and well wishes.
