Medina, MN : One person dead, three injured in 4-vehicle wreck along Highway 55 in Medina on Monday, April 6, 2015

Authorities say one person was killed and three others were injured in a four-vehicle crash in Medina.

The Medina Police Department responded about 7:30 p.m. Monday to the accident along Highway 55. Officers arrived to find four cars carrying a total of seven people were involved in the wreck.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office says one person died in the crash.

Three people were taken with injuries to a local hospital. Their conditions weren't immediately available as of Monday night.

The highway was closed in both directions for several hours after the crash. An investigation is ongoing.

Medina is about eight miles northwest of Plymouth.
