Williamsport, PA : Woman dies in SUV crash in Beech Creek Township on Friday, January 27, 2017

A Clinton County woman was killed in a one-vehicle crash in Beech Creek Township that occurred on Eagle Valley Road about 9:30 p.m. Friday, state police at Lamar said.

Sherry L. Wargo, 43, of Beech Creek, died at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville at 1:30 a.m. Saturday of injuries she suffered when she lost control of the SUV she was driving, police said.

Wargo, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled after the Nissan Xterra first struck an embankment and then a steel cable fence, police said.

In another crash, Clayton Robert Hutchings, 33, of Milton, was treated at the UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport Regional Medical Center for injuries he suffered when his Toyota Tundra hit two utility poles before hitting the front of a home at Penn and Sheridan streets about 12:45 p.m. Saturday, city police said.

Damage to the house at 1197 Penn St. appeared to be minor, police said.

Late Saturday night, Lairdsville volunteer firefighters responded to a crash at Route 42 and Deer View Road in Franklin Township. One person was injured and there were reports from the scene that power lines were down.

Concerning another incident, state police continue their investigation into a crash that sent Aliek Carr, 26, of Philadelphia, to the hospital for treatment of injuries he suffered when his Ford Flex crashed into trees and caught fire on Grimesville Road, just north of Fox Hollow Road, during a police pursuit about 11:15 p.m. Jan. 22.
