Gerber, CA : Gerber collision Saturday results in fatality on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016

A Saturday evening collision involving a motorcycle about 5:30 p.m. on San Benito Avenue in Gerber resulted in a fatality, according to the California Highway Patrol website.

The collision was reported at 5:21 p.m. as a vehicle versus motorcycle involving a Nissan pickup truck. Cal Fire personnel arrived on scene at 5:24 p.m. and at 5:28 p.m. it was reported on the CHP website that the motorcycle rider was in the roadway and they were unable to find a pulse.

Both directions of traffic were blocked in the 9300 block of San Benito near a store until about 7:30 p.m. Saturday when the roadway was re-opened. Tehama County Sheriffs Department assisted in the incident.

No further information was available as of Saturday night.
