CHESTERFIELD, VA : 1 injured, driver charged in crash that led to overturned tractor-trailer on northbound I-95 near Chippenham Parkway on Thursday, 23rd May 2019

One person was seriously injured Thursday afternoon after a tractor-trailer hauling wood chips overturned in a three-vehicle crash on northbound I-95 near Chippenham Parkway.
The tractor-trailer overturned at mile marker 67 blocking all northbound lanes and spilling a load across all travel lanes and both shoulders. Traffic was able to get by on the right shoulder.
Police say a 2006 Buick sedan driven Mahaley Cassady, 20, of Alexandria, was traveling northbound in the middle lane when it attempted to veer into the right lane, lost control and struck a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Terese Donovan, 63, of Powhatan. The tractor trailer-driven by Steven Childress, 47, of Cumberland, attempted to avoid the crash, swerved left, struck the jersey wall and overturned.The trailer partially fell on the Cruze and Donovan was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Cassady and Childress were treated for minor injuries by EMS on the scene.
