One person died and two others suffered minor injuries after a wrong-way driver crossed a raised median and crashed into a city bus in Queens on Monday night, authorities said.The crash took place just after 8:30 p.m., at Union Turnpike and 175th St., by the St. John’s University Queens campus, according to an FDNY spokesman.
A car going the wrong way down Union Turnpike slammed head-first into a Q46 bus in the eastbound lane, said Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokesman Kevin Ortiz.
Police said the 61-year-old man, who was driving a 2004 Ford Taurus, died at the scene.
