Paducah, KY : A Metropolis woman was injured after a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 24 on Wednesday, October, 18th 2017

A Metropolis woman was injured after a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 24 near Mile Marker 2 Wednesday, according to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department.

Alice Perkins, 81, was traveling west on I-24, as was Tom Hazelwood, 41, of Jackson, Missouri. Authorities said traffic was stopped, including Hazelwood's vehicle, but Perkins could not stop her vehicle in time to avoid a collision. Perkins attempted to miss Hazelwood by pulling onto the shoulder, but still struck his vehicle.
