Las Vegas, NV : Motorcyclist killed in crash on I-15 near Valley of Fire park on Sunday morning, January 24, 2016

A motorcyclist is dead after he rear-ended a semi-trailer on the southbound Interstate 15 Sunday morning.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol:

The crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. on southbound I-15 near mile marker 73, a few miles from the Valley of Fire exit.

A third vehicle was involved, but no other injuries were reported.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Southbound lanes were closed, and traffic was being diverted to the shoulder.

The crash remains under investigation.
