CRYSTAL LAKE, IL : A single-vehicle crash caused traffic delays in Crystal Lake on February, Monday 26th 2018
A single-vehicle crash Monday caused traffic delays in Crystal Lake.
The crash occurred about noon at Crystal Lake Avenue and Walkup Road, and it closed a portion of the road for about 45 minutes.
A teen driver was traveling south on Walkup Road and turned west onto Crystal Lake Avenue before losing control of the car, which ended up on its side, police said.
It is not clear what caused the driver to lose control of the car.
“There was no indication of impairment,” Crystal Lake Police Cmdr. Scott Miller said. “And by all accounts, they came to a stop before turning.”
The driver and a teen passenger were examined and released at the scene without injuries. No other vehicles or people were involved or injured, Miller said.
The driver was cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision and improper lane use, Miller said.
The driver’s name will not be released because of age.
