BROOKLINE, VT : A one-car crash on Grassy Brook on Saturday, November, 18th 2017
Two local people were hurt on Saturday during a one-car crash on Grassy Brook Road, according to the Vermont State Police.
Samuel D. Turner, 18, of Brookline was driving a 2002 Toyota Camry on Grassy Brook Road around 5 a.m. on Saturday when the car left the right hand side of the roadway and struck a metal pole with a mailbox attached. The pole caused severe damage to the Camry, totaling it, police said.
Police said after speaking to Turner, and a passenger in Turner’s car, they learned Turner had driven off the roadway to avoid a deer.
Both Turner and the passenger, who was not identified, were taken to Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend where they were treated for lacerations and abrasions to their heads and arms.
Turner was issued a civil complaint for driving with a suspended license.
The Vermont State Police were assisted by Newbrook Fire and Rescue, Rescue Inc. and Scott Brook’s Towing.
