Brent, FL : 1 dead, 2 in critical condition after multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of North W Street and Marcus Pointe Boulevard on Thursday, 23rd January, 2020

A passenger riding in the backseat of a Toyota Sienna died Thursday afternoon in a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of North W Street and Marcus Pointe Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The deceased person's name had not been released as of Friday morning, pending notification of their next of kin.

Around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Ava Stoudemire, 36, was driving a Toyota Sienna northbound on North W Street at a high rate of speed with two passengers in her vehicle when she attempted to make a left turn onto Marcus Pointe Boulevard, according to the FHP.

Stoudemire failed to negotiate the turn and collided with a semi-truck driven by 51-year-old Michael Hyatt, of Bay Minette, Alabama, before her Toyota rotated clockwise, hitting a box truck driven by 29-year-old Demontra Jackson from Pensacola.

Debris from the Toyota struck an unoccupied 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe parked nearby.

Hyatt and Jackson were not injured.
