Goose Lake, IA : 51-year-old Robert Witt dead after motorcycle veers off road in Clinton County on Saturday, March 21, 2015

Authorities say one man has been killed after his motorcycle veered off the road and pinned him underneath in eastern Iowa.

The Clinton County Sheriff's Office says 51-year-old Robert Witt, of Preston, Iowa, was traveling southbound along 362nd Avenue Saturday when his motorcycle went off the road about two miles north of Goose Lake. Witt was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Witt's motorcycle veered to the right, struck a drain opening and continued until it hit an embankment in a farm field. The motorcycle landed on top of Witt, pinning him down.
