A 53-year-old Garber man was killed and two others were in critical condition Wednesday in a head-on collision on Oklahoma 74 south of Garber, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol is reporting.

The crash occurred about 3:10 p.m. just south of Willow Road, about 1.3 miles south of Garber, according to an OHP report.

Larry Holliday was northbound on Oklahoma 74 in a 2005 Chevrolet Impala, and Emilee Hughes, 21, of Covington, was southbound in a 2005 Honda Accord, according to the report. For an unknown reason, Holliday's vehicle went left of center, striking Hughes' vehicle head on, pinning Holliday, Hughes and Hughes' 17-year-old female passenger. How long the three were pinned is not known, according to the report.

Holliday was pronounced dead at the scene from head, arm, and internal and external body injuries. He was transported by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home to its facility in Enid.

Hughes and her passenger, also of Covington, were transported by Life EMS to St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, according to the report. Both were admitted in critical condition with leg, head, arm, and internal injuries.

The condition of Holliday and the cause of the crash remain under investigation, according to the report. Hughes' condition at the time of the crash is listed as "apparently normal."

Seat belts were in use by all involved in the crash.
