Hudson, NH : Nashua man arrested after crashing his Jeep into a church on Monday January 11 2016.

A Nashua man was arrested after crashing his Jeep into a church Monday morning, police said.
The crash caused significant damage to the community room of Hudson Community Church. Hudson police said Eddy Garcia, 47, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
The small church of about 20 members had just finished renovating the hall.
"We're going to need some help to get this taken care of," parishioner Lil Goes said.
Police said the vehicle crashed through the church wall about 5 a.m.
"I just prayed to God that nobody got hurt," parishioner Lenny Desmaris said.
No one was injured in the crash, but parishioners said that the damage was significant.
"It's discouraging," parishioner Lis Sousa said. "I mean it's a small church, and we try to keep it running, so this is definitely going to set everything back big time."
In the community hall, there was food in boxes for those in need for one of the church's outreach programs.
"Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, we have a hot lunch program for free for homeless or anyone who wants to drop by," Goes said.
The crash has put those programs in jeopardy.
"Right now, I've got my car full of pastries," Desmaris said. "We're going to have to do a different way of getting people some food."
Parishioners said they're not sure if there was any structural damage to the hall.
"I can see right about there where it's cracked, so I imagine there's going to be some," Sousa said.
The church has insurance, but parishioners said they're are worried about what a claim will do to the rates. They're also worried about leaving the building exposed to the elements in the cold weather.
