Lake County, IL : Wisconsin man killed in Wadsworth crash on Monday afternoon, July 18, 2016
A Wisconsin man was killed after the car he was driving collided with a semi-truck Monday afternoon in Wadsworth, police said.
The 54-year-old man, of Hales Corners, Wis., was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu east on the Tri-State Tollway (I-94) and exited at the off-ramp for Russell Road about 1:35 p.m., according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Police said the driver of the Chevrolet failed to yield to a westbound 2005 Kenworth semi truck and the car became partially lodged underneath the trailer.
The driver of the Chevrolet was taken to St. Catherine's Medical Center in Pleasant Prairie, where he was pronounced dead, according to police, who did not release the man's identity.
The driver of the semi, a 50-year-old Mundelein man, was not injured, according to the release.
