Motorcyclist killed in weekend crash in Georgia

A motorcyclist was killed early Saturday after losing control of his bike on Dodgen Road in Mableton.
The accident happened shortly before 1:30 a.m., when Cobb County Police investigators said 56-year-old Robert Clark of Mableton was trying to negotiate a curve in the road.
Clark lost control of his bike near the Y-shaped intersection with Allen Road. He struck a culvert and was thrown from the motorcycle.
Responding officers tried to perform CPR on Clark at the scene. He was later taken to WellStar South Cobb Hospital, where he died.
Cobb County Police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said Clark was not wearing a helmet when he crashed. Investigators also believed alcohol played a role in the accident.
