West Islip, NY : 1 killed, 1 injured in Long Island parkway crash on Tuesday, November 11, 2014

One driver was killed and another critically injured in a head-on collision on the Southern State Parkway. State police say 24-year-old Travis Sloboda, of West Islip, was killed when his car was struck by a vehicle driving the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of the parkway. It happened around 10 p.m. Tuesday east of exit 43A in Islip Terrace. The other driver, 63-year-old Edward Ogden, of Bay Shore, was taken to a hospital in critical condition. No charges were filed.
