Milwaukee, WI : Bicyclist struck, killed by a pickup truck on Milwaukee's northwest side on Friday night, March 4, 2016

A bicyclist was struck and killed by a pickup truck Friday night on Milwaukee's northwest side, police said.

The man, who had not been identified, was struck shortly after 8:30 p.m. in the 6500 block of W. Hampton Ave., according to a news release from the Milwaukee Police Department.

The man was westbound on W. Hampton Ave. and was struck from behind when he moved into traffic to get around a parked car, according to the release.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the incident is under investigation, police said.
