Lentner, MO : Two people injured after Shelby County crash on Thursday morning, October 13, 2016

Two people were injured when two trucks collided Thursday morning in Shelby County.

The crash occurred at 8 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 36 and Route A in Lentner.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2005 International 4300 truck driven by Curtis D. Harrison, 52, of Hurdland, was heading south on Route A when Harrison tried to cross U.S. 36 and struck the passenger side of a westbound 1997 Ford F-350 pickup truck driven by Frederick P. Devault, 42, of Mexico, Mo.

Devault's vehicle overturned and came to rest in the median.

Devault suffered moderate injuries and was taken by the Salt River Ambulance Service to University Hospital in Columbia. A passenger in Devault's truck, William E. Moreland, 81, of Mexico, suffered serious injuries and was flown by Air Evac to University Hospital.

Harrison reportedly was not injured.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Department and Shelbina Fire Department also assisted.
