Topeka, KS : Hydroplaning causes two crashes Saturday on Interstate 70 in Shawnee County on Saturday, October, 14th 2017
The Kansas Highway Patrol responded to eight injury crashes on Saturday across the state, two of which were in Shawnee County.
The first crash in Shawnee County was reported at 1 p.m. when a 2009 Infiniti G hydroplaned on westbound Interstate 70 near the U-75 junction, KHP’s crash log indicated.
Melissa Buescher, 34, of Wamego, lost control of the vehicle and struck a 2013 Dodge Avenger, driven by Anthony Desch, 52, of Topeka. His passenger, Kathy Williams-Desch, 54, was taken to Stormont Vail Hospital with a possible injury.
Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt.
