An 84-year-old man died after a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on La. 1 at Mar Drive in Lockport, State Police said.

Howard Badeaux, of Lockport, was driving a 1991 Nissan Frontier when he tried to turn left from Mar Drive onto La. 1, Trooper First Class Jesse LaGrange said. A 2002 Chevrolet Silverado traveling south on La. 1 struck Badeaux's pickup, and he later died at a hospital.

The other driver, Rachel Adams, 27, of Lockport, sustained minor injuries, LaGrange said. Troopers began investigating shortly before 3 p.m.

LaGrange said alcohol is not suspected, but routine toxicology tests are pending. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
