KATY, TX : 18-wheeler accident causing major delays on I-10 near Katy on Friday, 26th April 2019

People heading west on I-10 in the Katy area dealt with heavy delays due to an 18-wheeler accident.

According to authorities, the accident happened around 3:40 a.m. on the westbound lanes of I-10 at Pederson Road. The Department of Public Safety said the 59-year-old truck driver fro Nevada was killed in the accident and his passenger was taken to a hospital in stable condition

All main lanes were shut down and all traffic as being diverted off the freeway at Pederson Road for most of the morning.

The wrecked big-rig was towed away from the scene around 9:30 a.m. and roads reopened around noon Friday.
