Grant Pass, OR : 45-year-old man killed in I-5 crash in southern Oregon Monday, January 2, 2017

A 45-year-old man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 in southwestern Oregon.

The Oregon State Police say the crash happened near Grants Pass about 11:30 p.m. Monday. A preliminary investigation found that a 2003 Ford 150 pickup truck had been travelling northbound when it left the roadway and crashed into a 2004 GMC Yukon that was disabled and parked on the interstate shoulder. Authorities say the pickup rolled over onto its roof in a ditch after the collision.

The driver of the Ford, a man from Springfield, Oregon, was pronounced dead at the scene. Three passengers in his vehicle were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
