HUDSON, NH : Motorcyclist hurt in Hudson crash on Sunday, August 20, 2017
A 61-year-old man suffered potentially life-threatening injuries after his motorcycle collided with a SUV on Lowell Road Sunday afternoon, according to police.
Daniel Boucher of Nashua was transported via medical helicopter to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The driver of the SUV, 85-year-old Margaret Larocque of Hudson, was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua for further evaluation. She had her seat belt on at the time of the collision.
At around 4:17 p.m., Hudson Police and Fire responded to Lowell Road near Market Basket for a report of a collision involving a small SUV and a motorcycle. Upon arrival, first responders attended to Boucher and Larocque.
Investigators determined that Boucher was traveling north on Lowell Road approaching the entrance to Market Basket. Larocque was traveling south on Lowell Road, approaching the same intersection. Larocque turned left toward the entrance of Market Basket, and the two vehicles collided in the northbound lanes.
The Harley Davidson sustained heavy damage, and the RAV 4 sustained moderate damage. Both vehicles were later towed from the scene.
The road was partially closed with northbound detours while Hudson Police investigated and reconstructed the collision.
The cause is still under investigation.
