HAVERHILL, MA : Haverhill teen dies in single car crash on Sunday, October, 29th 2017
A teenage girl from Haverhill was pronounced dead at the scene after crashing her car into a tree along Interstate 495 in Haverhill Sunday evening, according to police.
A preliminary investigation by Trooper Matthew Routhier showed that Dasia Houtman, 18, of Haverhill was traveling on I-495 southbound in a 2004 Saturn ION on Sunday around 9:55 p.m. Her vehicle left the roadway, for reasons still under investigation, and struck a tree north of Exit 51 in Haverhill. Houtman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services Section will continue to investigate the crash.
State Police from the Newbury Barrack were assisted at the scene by Haverhill Fire, MassDOT, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
