REHOBOTH, MA : Attleboro man killed in Rehoboth crash on Wednesday, September 13, 2017
Police have identified the man killed in a Reynolds Avenue crash late Wednesday afternoon as Joshua Troufield, 34, of Attleboro.
Troufield died after the SUV he was driving crashed into a tree in woods off Reynolds Avenue just after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger, Elizabeth Resendes, 34, of Taunton was seriously injured in the crash and taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
Street addresses for both victims were not available Thursday.
Firefighters Wednesday said they were able to free the woman without any problems but needed tools to remove doors to open up the car to take the driver out of the vehicle.
Neighbors living in the area said this is the first fatal crash that many could remember and a number said they have lived on the street for 15 to 20 years.
But, they said speed is a huge problem on the street and vehicles use the road as a speedway.
The road was closed for more than four hours.
Reynolds Avenue is located off of Tremont Street, not far from the Taunton line.
The Sun Chronicle will have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
