One Oregon City man dies in motorcycle accident
Man who tragically died during practice before a motorcycle event this weekend:
Shane Donaca seemed to be a perpetual-motion machine. He ran an Oregon City construction business, coached his daughter's softball team for years, leading them from local tournaments to national competition, and competed in motorcycle events that require riders to blast up steep hills. Donaca died Saturday morning about 30 miles east of Yakima preparing for the Northwest Nitro Nationals Pro Hill Climb. And Brian Casey Jackson, the Oregon City man who admitted selling steroids to a Canby cop three years ago, was sentenced in federal court Monday morning for several other crimes.
Happy Valley & Milwaukie: Hong Pak was trying to take a nap after an early lunch today, so he didn't answer the knock at his front door. A few minutes later, around 11:40 a.m., he heard someone opening drawers in his mother's bedroom. About a half-hour later, Clackamas County sheriff's deputies stopped a vehicle fitting the description. Deputies soon arrested Oliver Ray Gruenenfelder, 37, of Milwaukie Oregon health officials suspect two more illnesses are part of a raw milk outbreak traced nearly three weeks ago to a farm near Wilsonville.
Jill Thorn, West Linn mayor during the 1990s and long-time political activist, died Friday. She was 68. And nearly two years after Anderson Silva defeated Chael Sonnen in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Sonnen, a mixed martial arts fighter from West Linn, will try for redemption.
