TUCSON, AZ : Bicyclist dies after crash near Broadway and Sixth Ave on Sunday, 28th March 2021

Tucson police say a bicyclist died after a crash near Broadway and Sixth Avenue March 25.

On Thursday, officers responded to the area of W. Broadway Blvd. and S. 6 th Ave. around 12:26 p.m. for a report of a serious-injury crash involving a bicyclist, according to TPD. Upon arrival, Tucson Fire medics were rendering aid to the cyclist, where he was then taken to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Interviews determined the cyclist was riding eastbound on Broadway. Police say a semi-truck was traveling eastbound in Broadway in the curb lane when the cyclist lost control, ultimately going into the semi-truck's lane and was then struck by the rear tires of the semi.

The driver of the semi-truck stopped and cooperated with the investigation.
