YORK, ME : Driver crashes into York Beach ice cream shop on Wednesday, 5th October 2016

A car crashed into a covered overhang at Wicked Good Ice Cream in York Beach Wednesday afternoon.

Police said Linda Siriois, 60, twas driving a 2005 white Lexus when the incident occurred at 4:12 p.m. The storefront for the shop is on Main Street but continues along an ally to the back, where the accident occurred. Police had no further information on Thursday regarding the cause of the accident.

York Beach firefighters and York Ambulance were also called to the scene.

This story has been corrected. It originally stated the driver in the crash owns the ice cream shop. That is not true.
