Red Bluff, CA : Driver killed in fiery crash on Highway 99 early Monday, April 4, 2016

The driver of a truck tractor died early Monday when the vehicle burst into flames after veering off Highway 99, crashing through a guardrail and hitting a metal support post for an overhead roadway sign.

It’s unknown if the driver, whose name has not yet been released, suffered a medical emergency or if alcohol or drugs were a factor, California Highway Patrol officers said.

The crash took place at 2:40 a.m. on southbound Highway 99 north of White Lane.
