Allen County, IN : 1 dead, 1 hurt in off-road vehicle crash in Allen County on Thursday, 20th September 2018

Indiana conservation officers are investigating a fatal off-road vehicle crash on Hurshtown Road Thursday evening.

Police were called to the area about 7 p.m. on reports that an off-road vehicle had left the road and struck a utility pole, according to a news release.

First responders found two male victims. Paul Schmucker Jr., 18, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 17-year-old who was not named was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center.

Neither victim was wearing a helmet or protective gear. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, according to the news release.
