Fargo,ND : Vining couple injured in crash after driver nodded off on March, Sunday 18th 2018

A man and a woman from Vining, Minn., were injured in a rear-end collision Sunday afternoon, March 18, on Interstate 94 near Albany, Minn., when the man fell asleep at the wheel, the State Patrol said.

Gary Kent Rockswold, 66, and his passenger, Wendy Lee Rockswold, 60, were taken to a hospital in St. Cloud, but their injuries were not life-threatening.

The other driver, James Matthew Beutz, 72, Freeport, Minn., was not injured.

The Rockswolds were westbound in a Mazda 6 around 1:20 p.m. when Gary Rockswold nodded off and crashed into the Lincoln Town Car Beutz was driving.

Everyone was wearing seat belts, the patrol said, and alcohol was not involved.
