Eugene,OR : Sutherlin woman died in head-on crash on may, monday 15th 2017

A head-on crash around 10 a.m. Monday morning on Highway 20 near the Santiam junction killed a Sutherlin woman and shut down the highway for several hours, according to Oregon State Police.

Dana Metzler, 63, was the passenger in a 1993 Ford F-250 truck, driven by Willard Metzler II, 57, of Sutherlin.


Police said that the Ford turned into the path of a 2001 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, driven by Lucas Ettinger, 33, of Salem, and the vehicles collided head-on.

Dana Metzler died at the scene.

Ettinger and Willard Metzler II both suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital by a third party for treatment, police said.

Investigation into the crash shut down Highway 20 traffic completely for about an hour, and then traffic was diverted into a single lane for two hours before the highway fully reopened.
